Course Outline:
• Introduction to computer vision: Understand the basics of computer vision and its applications in construction safety.
Overview of common hazards on construction sites (e.g., falls, equipment hazards, unsafe practices).
Challenges and needs for automated safety monitoring.
• Introduction to video surveillance system: Understand the basics of video surveillance system and effective site coverage.
• Data collection and analysis: This section covers the process of data collection from real-time video streams for hazard detection and safety compliance monitoring.
• Model evaluation and validation: This section covers fundamentals of object detection models
Overview of popular object detection models: YOLO, Faster R-CNN, SSD.
Real-time detection for identifying hard hats, safety vests, machinery, and vehicles.
Evaluation metrics specific to safety applications (e.g., precision, recall, real-time accuracy).
Certification:
Upon completion of the course, a Certificate of Participation will be issued to the learners.
