I. Development of Safety & Health Management System & Programme

Safety & Health Management System (SHMS) is a proactive systematic approach towards managing safety and health. It consists of 14 elements namely the safety policy, safe work practices, safety training, group meetings, incident investigation and analysis, in-house safety rules and regulations, safety promotion, a system for the evaluation, selection and control of contractors, safety inspections, a maintenance regime, risk assessment, control of movement and use of hazardous chemicals, occupational health programmes, emergency preparedness. SMS was first legislated in Singapore in 1995, and since then, we have assisted many clients to design and develop SMS (now known as SHMS), customized to their work environment / operations.

II. Risk Management / Assessment

Risk management comprises risk assessment along with plan to implement appropriate control measures and plan to monitor the effectiveness of the implemented control measures. Under the WSH (Risk Management) Regulations, every workplace must conduct risk assessment. Risk assessment is the cornerstone to reduce risk at source, that is, careful evaluation of working conditions and practices are performed and proper measures are put in place prior to the occurrence of workplace accident or ill health. Our experienced consultants are to lead and assist in many ways - provision of advice on risk assessment methodology, techniques to identify hazards at workplaces, insight as to which work activity is most likely to pose safety and health risk to employees and setup of an effective risk management system.
